The African teak wood is named pericopsis elata in scientific. It mainly grows in Congo in Africa. The lipid content of this wood is high, and it is stable, durable, nonperishable and high-hardness. The teak wood spend one hundred years to be mature at least, so it is rare and worth to be collected.

心边材区别明显,边材窄，宽约2.5cm，色浅外皮灰黄色至灰褐色，心材新鲜时黄褐色浅黄褐色，树皮和树心中间有一条明显的黑脂分界线，纹理直至略交错,结构甚细且均匀。

It is easy to tell the sapwood and the heartwood. The sapwood is light-gray to taupe，whille the heartwood is tawny. The boundary line is black，and the grain of the wood is close and crossing.
