Monkeypod is also called rain wood and suar wood. It mainly grows in Peru, Columbia, Ecuador, Venezzuela in South America. It possesses the middle bending strength and shock strength. The wood has good elasticity and stability. And it is not easy to go mouldy and out of shape after drying.

雨木光泽柔和，纹理通直至波状，边材是乳白色，心材从浅棕到深巧克力色，偶尔有紫色和较暗条纹并带有黑色条纹花纹。呈现美丽大山纹，有时有波浪形的曲卷树纹和 “鸟啄痕”针结，形成自然装饰图案。

The grain is changeful, sometimes straight and sometimes waved. The sapwood is milk white and the heartwood is light brown to deep chocolate, sometimes black. The grain sometimes is wavy circumnutating and bird peck knot, which form a natural texture.

雨木又称金合欢木、南美胡桃木、南美花梨木。主要产于南美洲的秘鲁、哥伦比亚、厄瓜多尔、委内瑞拉、阿根廷和墨西哥等。雨木弯曲强度和抗冲击强度中等。材质密度弹性好，经过脱脂烘干后材质稳定，不易发霉、开裂和变形，色泽较浅且纹路活跃。
